Hey everyone. Looking at potentially purchasing this Ames 1860. Wanted get some opinons on it before possibly purchasing. Do you see anything that raises any red flags? Looks all original to me, but I'm still learning. Judging by the wear, it does not appear to me to have ever been used in battle (may be wrong in this assumption), not sure if that affects value? Seller is asking $550. Any input would be appreciated 🙏 Thank you!

Looks legitimate to me except for the 1861 stamping being almost over the inspector's initials and not lower. I've not seen one like that on other Ames swords. Almost looks like it was added at a later date because of the stronger stamping compared to the U.S. and the initials. But the rest of the sword looks fine to me. A good buy at $550. Good luck.
