Where did the 54th VA serve?

During the Atlanta Campaign at least, both the 54th and 63rd VA were with the Army of Tennessee. I think they became part of the AoT shortly after being organized...October 61 and May 62, respectively, but could be wrong.

My 3rd great grandfather has a connection to the 54th VA, Co B.

Richard A. Lipford is listed on the post war veterans roster, but there is no service record of him.

Lots of speculation, but interesting none the less.
