My, we are a testy bunch lately.

That was Guy Lombardo. I am apparently too young to know this, but when I was in high school I used to listen to old-time radio shows all the time and big band music. I was born in the wrong decade I guess! But I loved Fibber McGee and Molly, Burns and Allen, The Great Guildersleeve, The Life of Riley, and the Shadow, though mainly for the creepy laugh.
I knew that, was just joking! Even I in my sports ignorance know the name of Vince Lombardi, the great hockey coach!:D:D
My dad loved all those shows and got them on video when they came out. he used to quote them all the time.

I still don't know how to post things from google to here! Electronics are not on my acting and voice-over resume!:banghead::bounce:
What I do is find what I want on Google and the copy the www. address in the bar at the top and just paste it onto the thread reply thingy like where I am now. Hope that makes sense. there is probably an easier way but I haven't discovered it yet.

I have to get someone over here to teach me--I still don't know how to "cut and paste!"--how embarrassing...:banghead:
Highlight what you want to copy. Left click on that and click on "copy". Go to your reply area, like where I am know, and left click again this time choosing "Paste". The www. address will show up in the replay box, but when you hit post, the image or video will appear in the thread.
Does this make sense? Try Googling a song or image here to see if it works.

Well, I'm glad to see we've settled down to some rational conversation,

In this leadup to the 150th anniversary of the surrender of the Army of Northern Virginia, it seems that everyone has this urge to re-fight the war. So I offer this to the generals and moderators as a quick way for those warring parties to settle their disputes once and for all.

When I was a kid, I had the Rock'em Sock'em Robots set and it was a great toy. I remember the tv commercial with the tag line - "You knocked my block off". In regards to the Civil War, the controversy that still surrounds the conflict after 150 years is one of the reasons that it is such an interesting event in the annals of American history.

Now, doesn't this say something about "our" forum? This thread has just taken-off! Much more quickly than some academic ones...we do need to lighten up.:D

Actually, there was a time on this forum when even some of the most contentious threads would devolve into banter like we've seen here (although the topic of diversion was usually food). With the current restrictions on going off-topic, that's not allowed to happen anymore. But it was a way to blow off steam.

What about Underdog? Just loved Underdog. I think he came out around the time Superman was huge, the first Superman.

Yes, sometimes it seems there's an awful lot of just distraction going on and not the good kind. We have someone in the nail-biting stage in the hospital at the moment, wildly off my game. You come here to check out of your head, leave the stress at the door along with your coat at the cloak room. Then discover you have to go back, recover one's saber and carbine just to make it through the first 3 threads.

I've been here awhile, it's as contentious as I've seen it which means as unproductive as I've seen it. Nothing gets done? No one is actually listening when this occurs, they're just busy typing, hitting ' post' bouncing from the negative energy from the other person's negative post. No one is educating each other, just digging in on their own ' side'.
Don't forget Polly Purebred. LOL, Back when our biggest worries was Gumby and Pokey!
