My, we are a testy bunch lately.

It is a sign of how mature my sense of humor is because the only time I laughed at that movie was when Mr. Peabody referred to Sherman and himself as confederates in arms or something like that. "Hah, hah- Sherman and Confederates were mentioned in the same sentence!"
hanna260,
What you watched is not the real Sherman & Peabody.

Here is the original Saturday morning entertainment that many of us enjoyed.
Believe or not, this was cutting edge back in the 1960's. So many of the jokes were directed at the adults, but we laughed anyway.

Just remember, your Grand Parents were kids once and life was actually in color. :bounce:

Check out the original cartoon when you can.

I am REALLY starting to like this fine mix of intellectuals and nut jobs! I should fit right in ...( with the nut jobs ,that is.. also , sorry didn't mean to shout.)
Great picture if Peabody and.. Sherman!!

Thank you for posting this, jay gale. Looks like fun.

I'm once again climbing up on my soapbox on what looks like a fun thread but I feel like I need to say this (sorry, guys!)- this forum's a wonderful place with so many wonderful people but I feel like sometimes or at least recently we're all a little too busy shouting at each other sometimes to listen- and that can be a scary atmosphere for new posters- which could explain why we haven't had too chiming in recently. If I may lecture people much older and wiser than me, I think empathy for each others point of view might solve a lot of the problems. We don't necessarily have to agree- after all, what are discussion boards for, right?- but we need to all remember that like it or not- we're in this together both as a nation and as a board. We can agree to disagree as friends, right?

I'm totally stepping out of place here and don't mean to presumptuous, but had to get that off my chest.
Hanna,
In my view, you are not stepping out of place at all. In fact, I think you have a depth of thought and sensitivity FAR beyond your years. Keep coming back every day. Your posts are quite interesting and thought provoking and I always enjoy reading them.

Welcome- I'm in charge of the nut jobs by virtue of my demonstrated excellence!

 Wow does that bring back memories! They just don't make cartoons like that anymore. Thanks for posting. :D

What about Underdog? Just loved Underdog. I think he came out around the time Superman was huge, the first Superman.

Yes, sometimes it seems there's an awful lot of just distraction going on and not the good kind. We have someone in the nail-biting stage in the hospital at the moment, wildly off my game. You come here to check out of your head, leave the stress at the door along with your coat at the cloak room. Then discover you have to go back, recover one's saber and carbine just to make it through the first 3 threads.

I've been here awhile, it's as contentious as I've seen it which means as unproductive as I've seen it. Nothing gets done? No one is actually listening when this occurs, they're just busy typing, hitting ' post' bouncing from the negative energy from the other person's negative post. No one is educating each other, just digging in on their own ' side'.

It is just an experiment to duplicate the fine interaction of ideas among civilized gentlemen that led to the war way back when. I think it is working pretty well at times.

Always loved Peabody and Sherman. Underdog was good too. There were really some great cartoons back then.

I don't usually comment but let's hope all settles down. We can discuss but be civil and think of people's feelings.
Too much winter maybe, and cabin fever! As a dear soul, who has since departed, used to say, we all need to get out side and blow the stink off!

Feelings!!! We don't need no stinkin' Feelings!

I don't understand as we all have feelings and should consider them for all people. That is why we have such problems with bullies. People make fun of folks and hurt their feelings. Some people can't stand it and go to extreme like hurting themselves or committing suicide. We have had several teenagers who committed suicide in our area because of terrible comments by unfeeling people. These comments were posted on the internet or taunted by folks at their school.

I will write no more. I knew bad idea to comment. Best to stay away from controversial subjects.

On a sincere note the death of a child over such matters is a horrible thing. The posters here however have the option to leave or ignore that which hurts their feelings. Everyone here knows what the hot topic issues are and posts them knowing full well what responses to expect. If they get their feelings hurt then they are doing themselves a disfavor. Tough skin required here.

Who ever said,"Words will never hurt you" was so wrong. Bruises and breaks mend but verbal assaults sometimes never do.
Donna, I appreciate your comments here. You and JPK are like the voices of reason echoing into the darkness of our contention. Thanks to both of you!
