Happy Birthday Brig. General Young Marshall Moody! Salutes remembering General Moody on his birthday.

Survived the war but succumbed to yellow fever the very next year.

Twice he suceeded Archibald Gracie. The first time as commander of the 43rd Alabama Infantry Regiment. Then when General Gracie was killed by a sharpshooter in December (2nd?)1864 Moody stepped in to command his old brigade.

It was "Colonel" Moody who succeeded Gracie, Moody was not promoted to brigadier until March 4, 1865.
