Mightier Than the Sword is the story of Harriet Beecher Stowe and Uncle Tom's Cabin. The author is David S. Reynolds.
Its a biography in part of Stowe, and the background for the writing of UTC, what she hoped to accomplish with the book. The impact of national and world opinion, and the enduring use of the symbols and scenes, extended through plays and movies well into the 20th century.
I highly recommend it. I disagree with some of the points Reynolds makes, but well worth reading.
