It's a beautiful sword. I don't know much about this particular sword, but whenever I want to price something. I always use google lens to pull up similar matches and see what they are selling it for. if it's truly from that era and not a reproduction, I bet it would catch a pretty hefty price.

It's a Model 1840 Musicians' sword (not a saber, sabers had a curved blade were typically used by mounted troops) made by Frederich Horster of Soligen. Musician swords and scabbards are relatively common and can often be found in the $275 to $400 range.

For anyone interested, below is the google English translation of the exposition in the OP.

Hello, I'm a collector from Germany. My collecting passion focuses mainly on Bavarian objects from the period between 1800 and 1945. About six months ago, I acquired an interesting sword. My research suggests it must be a saber from the German Civil War around 1840, apparently the rare medic's variant. I'd like to sell it, but I don't know its exact value. I have a rough idea… and, more importantly, I don't know who to sell it to. I think this relic would be best suited for a US citizen who is knowledgeable about this period. Thank you for your help. Sincerely, Daniel

Yeah what you said because I have no idea what Daniel above said.

Thank you very much for your answers. Yes, unfortunately, my smartphone always uses the Google translation. That's why it's so hard to read. I would like to sell the saber. Do you know who buys these things from abroad? Greetings from Bavaria, Daniel

I don't care about the World Cup 😄 the best one wins.Greetings from Bavaria, we have much more beautiful regional festivals here in Bavaria. I live in Leipheim where we have the largest beer garden in Germany, the Children's Festival under beautiful trees. Just Google it.. the Oktoberfest is Overdresd

Sorry can't help you with sales. I wouldn't imagine there's much demand for a sanitar's (medic) sword. I've been to the Kunsthaus in Munchen. Does that help?

Good luck with shipping that here to the USA. Tried recently to get a sword shipped here from Germany several shippers wanted well over 400 almost 500 Euros. Had someone flying here checked it as luggage and was able to get it luckly.

Can't fly out of Heathrow. I bought a bayonet for a Webley and stuck it in luggage. The next year my friend (Metro PD at Heathrow) told me the rules have changed and they'd arrest people for that. I wonder if there's a merchant marine sailor who can carry it (naw, he'd lose it in a cardgame).

Actually won the sword at an auction House in Italy I've been dealing for years with. Welcome to 2025 and I won't say why but shipping and US Custom tax (never had to pay those before) went through the roof! Italian Shipper wanted like 460-480 Euros to ship to USA. Had it shipped to relative in Germany under 60 Euros. Same in Germany every Shipper they took it to 400-500 Euros. Had them ship it back to Italy to my Daughters Future Husband working there, cost 20 Euros. Daughter going to visit him had her check it in as checked luggage (not hand carried) on her return flight. Made sure all the Italian Custom clearing documents were attached outside the box (gave them to her before she left to go over there sent to me by the Italian auction house). One clerk at airport questioned it and called over another clerk who said its ok! Met her at the airport here in USA and off it came on the luggage claim along with her suitcase. Had my sword and saved 400 Euros. That only took over 8 months!
Guess who will not be buying anymore items from Europe for awhile?
P.S. the Italians due to some silly law would not ship the sword to someone in Italy as in my Daughters future husband. Go figure!
