1862 – 1863: Lt. Colonel of 27th​ Connecticut Infantry Regiment​
1863: Captured at the Battle of Chancellorsville, Virginia on May 3rd​
1863: Prisoner of War until paroled on May 23rd​
1863: Regimental Commander at the Battle of Gettysburg​
1863: Killed on the 2nd​ Day of the Battle of Gettysburg, Wheatfield​

Died:
July 2, 1863

Place of Death: Wheatfield, Gettysburg, Pennsylvania

Age at time of Death:
23 years old

Burial Place: Grove Street Cemetery, New Haven, Connecticut
