These were found within a couple miles of White's Ferry very close to the Potomac River
in Maryland, at a farm there. I think it was called Conrad's Ferry then, and the river was
closely guarded during the war because the Southerners could make crossings and attack
targets in the area. There is also what looks like a damaged Indian arrow head that
was "eyeballed" there. It is hard to see here, but there is also a brass civilian CW era button,
and these were used by the Southern troops especially early in the war because they did not
always have military buttons.
