Unfortunately, I do not have the rifle yet. I am in Norfolk and the gun is in Greensboro, NC.
So I went to the show and the only Lorenz item for sale was a parts rifle; but not a Lorenz totally. I'm pretty sure it is Jaeger/Lorenz . I bought the thing anyway, took it apart and not only is the lock plate bent, and the hammer is somewhat mushroomed on one side where it strikes the nipple, it is also missing the little return spring and has a broken bridle and some missing screws. The mainspring is sound. It looks like the lock might fit. Its probably enough to make a wall hanger out of the gun, but knowing me, I'd want it to work. I wonder if they used the Lorenz locks for these guns. It appears to be stamped 856 on the lock plate.
