This is actually a thing. Apparently Mrs. Jackson cut up a scarf worn by Thomas Jackson and distributed the pieces to folks. There's a piece in the vmi museum with an ironclad identification by a professor's wife who attached a note telling this story. And there are three other known pieces (about 2" by 3") that are all sewn onto identical albumen photographs of Jackson. Again some sort of memorial souvenir given out by Mrs. Jackson. One of these is in the Museum of the Confederacy's collection, another in a small virginia museum, and another in a private collection. Apparently someone got a hold of another one of these and then cut it up into tiny, tiny pieces hoping to get rich. They didn't do a good job explaining the provenance of the piece. I've been researching these relics for years. I think this scarf, or maybe its a handkerchief (blue & white checked silk), was on Jackson's person when he was wounded, but I have not been able to document this yet.
