The memoirs of George Thomas is tempting, but my current reading backlog of 14 Civil War books tells me not to buy any more yet. I do wonder, considering the many victories of General Thomas, what he thought about losses such as Kennesaw Mountain and New Hope Church.

I did not know this existed.

Fictional memoirs of real people has always struck me as a strange sub-genre.

Just to be clear, the George Thomas book is FICTION/NOVEL. It might not have been what you were expecting if your "read me" pile had been smaller. I find this type of book to be entertaining if done well; others, like @Joshism, don't. As a library worker, I maintain there's a genre for everyone; it's just not the same genre.

OOPS - I overlooked that, and would not want it after all. THANKS.

If you had placed a purchase request for it, I hope I would have had the presence of mind to make sure you understood that it was fiction before confirming the sale. I know fiction is not everyone's genre here. I'd like to avoid having disappointed patrons. I don't want to be one of "those" sutlers.
