Inspector Cartouches

Been looking for Identifications of several cartouches on some carbines and rifles and came across this, thought I'd share:

If you are seriously interested in cartouches, a fairly recent book is very good. " U.S. Military Arms Inspector Marks" by Anthony Daum and Charles Pate

Thanks for sharing that website, lots of information. My problem with inspector cartouches is figuring out what the heck the letters are in the first place, they always just look like scribbles to me. Consequently, I always have to go the wrong way around, find out who the inspector was first, and then I can figure out what the letters are.

@JOHN42768 nailed it. This book is an essential one for any collector's library. Unfortunately there those out there who will deceive the unknowing buyer with re-stamps, and fakes, and assembled look-likes. It's YOUR responsibility to prove authenticity... not the sellers.
Caveat emptor. Make it Santa's special gift...
