Lets go back to 1988.......the125th reenactment of Gettysburg.....Pickett's Charge. The event was one I will never forget. At the end of the charge, a lone bugler atop a scaffold for taping the event began to blow "taps". At that moment all soldiers both North and South stopped and took their hats off and bowed their heads. The whole field became silent. It was the most beautiful thing I have seen in a long time. Now its 2006......... the event on Long Island is at an end. Then a lone bugler in the distant played "taps" and again all soldiers stopped, hats off and heads bowed. To see both representatives of North and South take time in unity to honor those who gave their lives for their beliefs .... even 20 years timespan between two events makes my head spin. I am privileged to know those here on this message board that reenact. I'm very proud to be a member of this group, even though I don't personally reenact. God Bless you all.
