i was looking to buy a confederate belt buckle... can anyone tell me if this is legit.... i was told by the seller it was obtained thru an estate sale Any help would be greatly appreciated

Not a CSA collector, a Union collector but over & over on this website if I remember stating that all them CSA round belt buckles are fake. Hope you did not pay a lot for it!
 
Keep in mind that for fifty years reproduction belt buckles of variable quality have been produced with no intent to deceive.

Actual CSA relics are, for a lot of reasons, relatively rare. Delta berate fakes intended to deceive, on the other hand grow in number everyday.

A well known appraiser of CW relics is quarts as saying that outside of private collections & estate sales, he goes 10 years at a stretch without evaluating a genuine CSA relic.
