Real or reproduction?

Another purchase I made a few months ago. I saw this ammo pouch listed for sale and thought it would look pretty authentic with my Civil war weapons. The seller had it listed as a reproduction. The leather is old and stiff… the belt is intact but cracked. The tin is missing, but everything else appears complete and hole. I figured it was a reproduction because the name and writing under the flap. The seller told me he was selling it for a friend who used it in Civil war re-enactments. I pretty sure it's an old reproduction… the "Watervliet Arsenal" has me wondering. Of course anything can be made or stamped to look original.
