How to make a Rifle Box?

I apologize if this is the incorrect forum; I'm looking to make a Rifle Box like the one seen below but I'm as of now unaware of how to do so and I'm wondering if anybody in this forum has the measurements and the like

Check out the 1862 Ordnance Manual available online. The dimensions are on pages 195-195 and Plate 27 is a graphic depiction of the packed case.

one thing to remember is that in the Ordnance Manuals, dimensions are given as inside dimensions. At that time, the thickness of the lumber may vary and by giving the inside dimensions, they could ensure that everything would fit in the completed box. One exception ( there may be others also) is for the boxes that are used for the artillery traveling forge. Those boxes are given as outside dimensions since all of the boxes fit into a limber box like a puzzle to prevent any wasted space.
