His first major action was a It. Colonel at 2nd Bull Run. He succeeded command of the brigade (56th Pennsylvania) when the Colonel of the unit was wounded.

One source says He was mustered out on March 7, 1865 while this source says it was on July 1st. Anyone know for sure?
