Major Henry was the commander of the artillery battalion attached to Hood's Division at Gettysburg and followed Hood when he went West. When Hood became Army of Tennessee's commander, Henry was his chief of artillery.

The painting "Bronze Guns and Iron Men" by Don Troiani portrays Pelham at Fredricksburg. But the officer with the binoculars behind the Napolean in the painting is Henry.Henry remained with Pelham and that one gun and was acknowledged for his noteworthy service that day.It was said to be Henry who convinced Pelham not to withdraw.
