Harpers Ferry

Another bucket list completed...walked (climbed) the Maryland Heights lookout....It felt like 4 miles up hill both ways but got it done in 2-1/2 Hrs.....not bad for an old Sailor....

Congrats! It's one helluva hike, but well worth it!

Maryland Heights trail is a brute. especially if you go all the way up to the fort. I consider myself to be in good shape and the way up was a test. But the nice thing is not many go all the up and you are rewarded with wonderful views.

I would like to hike the Loudon Heights trails. Wife and I were there for a day and were able to hike Maryland Heights and Bolivar Heights.

The Loudoun Heights trails are a lot easier, but nice too. Here's a pic I took of Maryland Heights from Loudoun Heights. (Wish I could find my pics from Maryland Heights, but no luck so far.)
