Looks like a standard cavalry saber to me, nothing that screams Confederate but I'm not an expert sword guy. I wouldn't pay much for it, there's a lot nicer examples on the market for not crazy money. But I'll leave it to the experts like @ucvrelics to tell you for sure.

Thanks for the advice and all the reply's. I'm 14 and short on funds right now my budget is 450 could you point me to a good one for sale
Don't be in a rush. Save a few more dollars and get something nice, you're not too far off. Is a cavalry saber really what you want? There's several collectors on here like the other fellow who replied that I'm sure can point you to what you want.

Next weekend there is an excellent Civil War show in Franklin, Tennessee. If you can make it you'll have a chance to see a variety of things that will fit in your budget. But, I would advise what others have said too, and save your money up some more and look at a little more expensive item that won't require an upgrade later on down the line.

I and @redbob will be there with bells on as we have 2 tables.

Have to agree with everyone else, $375 is too much for a saber in that condition and without a scabbard. While it's hard to hold out and save a bit more for something a bit nicer with a scabbard at your age, it will be worth it. You are not far off. You may want to take a look at Shiloh Relics website to get an idea of some retail prices, but if you can get to a good show you'll probably do better. When I used to sell at shows I would tend to give kids better breaks to get them interested in the hobby.
