At Gaines' Mill, June 27, 1862, Brigadier Pickett was badly wounded in the shoulder. The surgeons cut the sleeve off of his uniform coat; the sleeve is now in the museum in Harrisburg. Read more about Pickett's men breaking the Union line at Gaines' Mill here:
