Well, whoda thunk it? A Nathan Bedford Forrest cross stitch kit for anyone inclined to take up a needle.

When and if she finishes it, Chellers, it will be the second thing she's ever cross-stitched for me in thirty years. The first says "Creative minds are rarely tidy." That's been on my untidy wall for about 20 years.

She must have REALLY needed to see it in print, Ole. People who can cross stitch make me almost insane with admiration. Can't even watch it. SO many, many little, precise stitches making up the whole, gosh- makes me want to run into the street screaming. Mom can do it also, must be wonderful to have such a restful spirit you can pull that off.

If anyone takes up the NBF cross stitch challenge, Chellers, we HAVE to have some kind of parade here for them. I don't know- ticker tape or confetti or something. That's incredible. Wonder if there's a Sherman? Or McClellan? Nah- too small, what would you use it for?

I know how that goes, Ole. I've several pieces that have been 'in progress' for 20, 30 years, and likely that's how they will remain. Unfinished and unsigned. I've read that adult children of alcoholics have difficulty finishing projects, and I definitely can vouch for that!

Anyway, gotta new project I want to start, so gotta run................:D

The NBF cross stitch challenge! That's a hoot, JPK.

I have no idea what all this is about. Mother crocheted -- never knitted. A neighbor was never without he carpet bag of skeins and almost knitted while she ate.

Dear One does counted cross-stitch -- whatever that is.

I gather that it is something you do when you don't have anything else to do.

Ahem...Where do I order that again?

We can race. :)

I hate to burst bubbles, but I sort of thought there might be one floating around--there's been a program for years--you scan in the photo and they make a pattern. You can do it with your kids' photo, your pet, your house...or your favorite general.

And chellers, honestly, it has nothing to do with alcoholism, because my parents were both teetotalers and I've never finished more than a few.....
