Flintlock question

I am looking at a Harpers Ferry M1816 Flintlock. One question, would there be cartouches anywhere on the stock? The one I am looking at, I don't see any.

There should be stock cartouches. The lack of any will indicate them being worn off or perhaps the stock having been refinished.
