Finally cleaned a cool piece

After years I got this a CW/ colonial spot, I decided to clean it up and going to seal it. I think it did alright. It's got some writing on top band but can't make it out. It's been snowing heavy all day herein south , can't really go detect one of my good sites. And I still don't know why these pics load sideways everytime now.

No, probably horse tack , some kind of strap fitting possibly
