Finally After 40 Plus Years

Congratulations on that Arkansas button. I would think Florida buttons are even more rare. My recollection is that Florida only produced 8 infantry regiments and only a handful of cavalry regiments. The number of artillery batteries had to be small too. The number of state militia and home guard troops was small too and only saw late war action.
There were a number of Florida troops who along with the Alabama brigade made up the far right of Lee's line on the third day of Gettysburg.

Not to get off topic but Florida had 11 infantry regiments. The 9th, 10th, and 11th were formed in the Spring of 64. The Florida forces in state at the time of Olustee were consolidated together under Joseph Finnegan for the battle of Olustee. After the battle they were sent to Virginia to bolster the depleted Florida Brigade of the 2nd, 5th, and 8th. When they got there they were organized into the 9th, 10th, and 11th. Florida produced very little if any at all of their own military supplies. They begged borrowed and stole from neighboring states to get anything at all so anything Florida would really be extremely rare, carry on.

Probably couldn't steal a Florida button from a nearby state… but Florida did do a good job protecting their own capitol with what they had..

Not to get off topic any further but Tallahassee was a long way down on the priority list, they didn't even attempt to take it till March of 65. Coastal port towns were much more important and taken easily early on. They had a very hard time making any inroads inland though trying to stop the flow of cattle, salt, and goods from blockade runners heading north.

Actually, the guy with the buttons found me. I engaged and stalled him for a few minutes while @UCVRelics was out walking around.

But I never get any credit for anything around here. :nah disagree:
And, when you get more popular than he is; he will fire you, something about driving the paying customers away.

I was out smoking and you forgot I had to go to the ATM at the Bank of Drew as I was $500 short and counting quarters.
