Got around to cleaning more I found at cavalry site. It's hard to tell from this pic but in person the complete buckle says USA and the broken piece says US. I don't know if they are hand forged or machine made. I can't tell from the pitting started on them. Did blacksmiths mark their work with a USA or US?
