Does a Wide Encompassing Edge Weapon Catalog Exist?

I would imagine it is the nature of the beast - edged weapons- that it is hard to come up with an annual catalog updating the availability and prices of edged weapon. When I googled it a 1968 catalog came up repeatedly. I see many books on edged weapons but the breath is pretty narrow - a single war, a short period in a specific arena, a single manufacturer. Some of those obscure boos are rare and expensive as books go. Am I mistaken or is this just the state of affairs in 2022?

You might find The Crystal Palace story interesting.

There were certainly catalogs from the Shops around Maiden Lane in NYC, Philadelphia, D.C. and elsewhere but where are they? Even going back to importing magnates like Spies and Wolfe, decades before the ACW.

Great topic

No . Its not the state of affairs. There are many books on swords but they are broken down in to the different war and periods. Due to the changing markets and time the values go up and down so printing a yearly "Value Guide" is impossible. Research books are expensive due to the small amount printed.

Like I said, Its the nature of the beast
