It seems like neo-confederates complain a ton about DC, but I was recently told that southrons lobbied to get the federal city moved south(it had been NY?). Any truth to this? It seems it was moved south as a compromise to appease the south while the northerners got something they wanted. I know this is vague, but this is all I can recall. Anyone know the rest of the story?
