Not quiet sure where the middle name of Robinson came from. According to one source he had no middle name and used the letter "R". According to Wikapedia He led a counterattack that helped capture of over 200 Confederates in the unfinished railroad cut West of Gettysburg on July 1, 1863.
 
General Dawes corresponded with several members of the 2nd Mississippi after the war, including Colonel (then Governor) Stone and Major Blair. By all accounts he was a fine soldier...
