There were almost a dozen (11) graduates from his West Point class who went on to be Civil War Generals but none really who could be called "heavy hitters" except possibly Henry Slocum or a George Crook.

Critical details on George Cosby's wounds suffered while engaging Indians.
From p.131,

I am somewhat puzzled by that article saying that Lake Trinidad is " about 40 miles northwest of Corpus Christi". That is a pretty good description of where I live, close anyway and there is no Lake Trinidad anywhere around here. Plus it mentions Seminoles. I was not aware of any Seminoles in South Texas.

1) Names change, what was known as Lake Trinidad before 1865 is probably not the Lake Trinidad formed in 1925. Come to think of it, Trinidad is Spanish for Trinity.

2) Several hundred [Seminoles], led by Chief John Blount, settled on the Trinity River in 1834.

The Trinity River is almost 200 miles from here.I have never heard of a Lake Trinidad around here and I'm kind of familiar with the history of surrounding counties. It was never mentioned in any "local" history books.
