Picked this up at a Massive CW estate sale, according to the link #2 it is a nice find. I know I would have like to have had it vice a ka-bar in Iraq.

No matter how much everybody wants these things to be some bodacious Confederate Side Knife, the truth of the matter is that the vast majority of them were converted to Sugar Cane and Corn Knives after the ACW. To believe one is real it would have had to have been dug on a site in context with other ACW materials. None of the ones I have seen over the years have ever been dug, but rather turned up on farms. That is, until a dealer got ahold of them!
