I received these Kuntzler mugs nearly 20 years ago as a gift from my father-in-law and at the time, just tossed them in the cupboard with all my other mugs. However, I have come to appreciate them more and more as time goes by. Whenever I'm back home in Virginia at my vacation home, I break these out for my morning coffee. Not just another mug!

They are spectacular! But would be difficult to leave them up in Virginia! Being a proud coastal Baldwin County native, I think the State of Virginia is possibly the most beautiful place on Earth. Have been from one end to the other visiting battlegrounds and historic towns with my son....
So you have the best of both worlds: Southern Alabama and the mountain ranges in your home state :+))....
Thanks for sharing those exquisite cups..enjoy!

You are right on having the best of both worlds - it's cold up here right now, so I'm missing the warmer Mobile weather at the moment, though I hear it was a bit chilly there yesterday. But as you say, Virginia is a beautiful state and it's where I grew up, so despite living in Mobile, my loyalties still lie with the Old Dominion. American by birth, Virginian by grace of God!

Those are nice. I have a couple of his prints custom and museum quality framed hanging on the walls in my home. One of them is my favorite print out of all I have. Hats, coffee cups and an occasional book are about all I buy now. Those cups you have are probably pretty rare now.

A surprisingly beautiful artwork. I am a coffee drinker, and have a metal camping cup as my favorite choice. (It has been placed in the microwave twice without explosion). Don't drop yours, I would cry.
Lubliner.

Agreed - I have the two at right, "I Will be moving Within The Hour" and "The Review At Moss Neck". I found them a couple of years ago at my favorite monthly flea market for the princely sum of $5 each and alternate using one of them almost every morning. I also found there on a different visit four of Kunstler's Lee-Jackson series of matching collector plates for the same price!

How many are in the set altogether? Thanks,
Lubliner.

Unfortunately, I only know about those I've seen; I have a better idea about the plates, though. When I found the four, I looked online at eBay sales for them, and there seem to have been twelve in the Lee-Jackson series. I bought two more to make six, with three hung on either side of a Don Troiani print. I don't know if there were the same number of mugs or not.

I would think it would be made for a table setting. Twelve is a Thanksgiving gathering crowd. I would be very careful who I served. Thanks for responding.
Lubliner.
