This recipe for Chocolate Bread Pudding is from "Old Time Recipes To Enjoy, The Kentucky Explorer Magazine". I always enjoy this section of the magazine so much. It has recipes from families dating back over 100 years or more.

Bread pudding has always been a favorite. The idea of chocolate bread pudding is even better.

Three fourths cup of bread crumbs, two cups of scalded milk, three squares of melted chocolate, two eggs, one tablespoon of butter, salt to taste, one half a teaspoon of vanilla, one fourth cup of cold milk, three fourths cup sugar, one half cup of raisins. Mix all ingredients in the order given. Pour into buttered baking dish, set into pan of hot water, then bake for one hour in a moderate oven, stir twice during baking to keep chocolate from rising to the top.
