Challah (Braided Egg Bread)

Thanks for posting this! I'm too lazy to make it, but when I lived near a bakery, I bought some regularly. I highly vouch for its French toast properties.
We have a small chain of dinners here in North Florida called the Metro Dinner and they make a french toast out of thick cut challah and stuff it with blueberries and cream cheese...it must be 5,000 calories but it is so good .

I have never had stuffed French toast, and cannot imagine how one would get it cook through without over cooking the outside. It also sounds way too calorie laden for me, but I'm sure it is probably delicious.

Douglas and I shared a piece (actually half a piece) for breakfast at St. Simons Island. It was delicious! I probably gained five pounds just looking at it on the plate @Northern Light. :giggle: I love challah bread! I also enjoyed half of a challah bread french toast Monte Cristo one morning. Glad I got to share. Confession is good for the soul.

A Monte Cristo on challah bread is a 5 star sandwich with a good raspberry compote with it.
