Glen_C - How would you go about restoring the grips without dismounting the blade? I am very interested because I have more than one sword with less than even poor grips!

Tom Nardi does it. Whole grip cores can be fitted in halves/sections. I believe he mentions it on his page. Maybe he was listing just the leather and wire but I know cores can be done that way.
