Is there anyone who could provide more info on this soldier. It comes from a dual cased image with "two sisters" on the left and soldier image on the right. Thank you

Sorry but I can't help you! Just wait a little while and someone will be along. Welcome to CWT from the Smoky Mountain side of North Carolina.

Welcome from Oklahoma...!

It's really hard to identify a nameless image, often impossible, but you never know someone might be able to help. Have you looked in the case behind the image or behind the padding on the other side for any notes or other marks that might provide a clue?

Welcome From THE Heart Of Dixie. That will be toughie with nothing more to go on.
FORREST-002.jpg

He's a Union soldier wearing a Hardee (dress hat) and nondescript fatigue blouse (sack coat), belt with US oval buckle, and cartridge box sling. Almost certainly late war western (IL, OH, MI, WI) regiment. I can't identify his rifle but it could be a photographers prop anyway.
Two million Federal soldiers served and almost every one got their likeness taken, so that narrows it down.

Well that narrows it down to around 350000 :nah disagree:

This isn't necessarily an early-war photo, nor the musket a prop. From its flat barrel bands and size I imagine it's either a M.1816 flintlock-converted-to-percussion or M.1842, both of which were .69 smoothbores that saw extensive use, especially (but not exclusively) early in the war.

But we can confirm that this is a civil war image?
An unqualified Yes.
