Carved Bone/Ivory rings?

These two bone or ivory rings (I haven't checked to see which material yet) are from my dad's CW collection. I haven't found any info for them yet. He usually has printouts of the auctions when he bought items, but not for these so far. Does anyone know anything about them? I Googled "Civil war rings" and have seen very similar rings made by POWs, so I don't know if that's the case or not. Any info would be appreciated!

Those are very much of the sort of folk art bone rings that were made in the mid 19th century. Impossible to say if they have a Civil War prisoner provenance.

Have read one CW vet. say that he was upset when captured as they got his rings off of him. Not sure what type.
for what it's worth.

Interesting ring. The symbol could be that of the Union Army 1st Division, III Corps

Thanks! This stuff is frustrating because for all the records he kept, there are a lot of gaps! So any input helps because other than firearms and some swords, I'm out of my element!
