Burnside carbine model question

Hi all,

Is this a fourth or a fifth type? What should be the lever hinge pin on this one looks different than what I've seen. It looks more like just a large pin? It's SN 31XXX. Thanks!

It look like a 5th model with a hinged load lever and the 5 digit #confirms what are the last 3 # and I will see if it shows up in the SRS

The guide screw is the difference but the patent model 1864 had a guide screw also. With just one photo and no info on marking that the best I can do.

You are correct that the hinge pin is not a Burnside pin. The proper hinge pin will have an arm that locks behind the spring loaded pin on the frame. There is also a "tab" on the arm that will fit into a slot as the arm locks into place so as to keep the hinge pin from sliding out of position.

Jobe, does that mean I can replace it with the correct part (Part Number BN105 - Lever Pin - from S&S firearms)?
