For you bird lovers out there, here is homemade bird suet for the birds.

Bird's Delight

1 cup lard
1 cup crunchy peanut butter
2 cups cornmeal
2 cups old-fashioned oats
1/2 cup flour
1/2 cup sugar
1/2 cup raisins
1 to 2 cups ground corn
1/2 cup chopped peanuts

Melt lard and peanut butter and mix with remaining ingredients. Let harden and put out for the birds. They will love it.

Good recipe, Donna. Alternatively, beef suet from your local meat market may be substituted for lard.
