Bacon Relic?

I think it's a Bacon. Not entirely sure though. The cylinder is not fluted so I am leaning towards something else.

Markings on the top strap are intelligible but could be correct for a Bacon.

It's still loaded.

Allegedly found on the sight of the battle for Atlanta but no provenance is available, so take that with a grain of salt.

From the title "Bacon Relic?" I had hoped you would be providing photos of a shrunken chunk of .....well, smoked bacon left forgotten and untouched (and uneaten) so long it dried out and become a relic.
It sure it a relic, and I believe it to be "a Bacon" even if it is not "bacon"

The lengths that men (in particular) will go for a chunk of bacon....sigh.....  :giggle: .

I do seem to remember some TV comedy skit where the woman, trying to attract the attention of a beau, rubbed some bacon behind her ears before going to some sort of outdoor party, in place of the usual perfume. As I recall, it attracted the attention of some dogs, who interrupted her attempts to flirt with men there.
It sounds like something that Carol Burnett would have done (remember her Scarlett O'Hara skit), but I don't think it was her.
