1862 – 1863: Lt. Colonel of 157th New York Infantry Regiment
1863: Became sick on the eve of Battle of Gettysburg
1863: His regimental surgeon objected to him taking the field
1863: Led his men in the defense of line north of Gettysburg town
1863: Shot in the forehead and killed on the 1st Day of Gettysburg


Died: July 1, 1863
Place of Death: Gettysburg Pennsylvania
Cause of Death: killed from gunshot to the forehead.
Age at time of Death: 24 years old
