Apple Butter

Peachbutter? Recipe please?
Forgive brief fruit shift, but do Georgian's have fried peach pies? They're unknown here, & since pie crust is a hopeless mess in my hands, fear I'll never enjoy this tart-sweet dense southern crust goodness again...

We been to Elkhart/LaGrange area several time. So much to see in that area. Know there is Amish community in Western Kentucky. It is near Fairview where Jefferson Davis birthplace located.

One thing I recently learned there are Amish in Florida. They are located in Pinecraft, a neighborhood of Sarasota.

See:

If it's anything like Midwest amish, next you must try amish cinnamon rolls :D

Don't forget to add spices according to your tastes. My wife uses nutmeg, cinnamon and cloves. I've also seen allspice and vanilla used in other recipes.

Also note that pear butter is good too.

OMIGOSH! Are you kidding me? Apple butter was one of the highest and best uses of apples back in the day. In my opinion (and I'm sure in the opinion of thousands who are "in the know") it still is today! Don't bother to try to argue with me about apple butter. My position is immovable!

My mother used to make Apple Butter. She also made a "stack cake" and placed it between and on top of it. We also used it on mom's homemade biscuits.
