Recent Find Another new Burnside thread

As promised here are a few more pictures of the carbine.

The remaining case colors are most evident on the lock side of the frame including the lock plate and hammer

The case colors are less evident on the ring bar side of the frame. This side must get a little more abuse from the sling ring. unfortunately, they didn't have "Loctite" glue back then so there is evidence of an attempt to use a punch to peen the heads of some of the screws to keep them from getting loose.

There's also original shiny bluing (fire blue I think) showing on the upper tang/strap plus rust blue on the breech block but with some speckling.

Here are the cartouches in the stock. HDH for Henry D Hastings as the ordinance acceptance and GC or George Curtis as a sub-inspector.

The best shot I could manage for the bore which is very shiny.

Lastly a grouping shot with some reproduction leather. The old clay pipe head is original but probably from the 1830s or earlier
