A brief visit to Chickamauga

Last week, I happened to be in Chickamauga for a brief period of time, and before leaving made sure to stop by the battlefield. The visitor center was closed, but I was able to take a few photos before it got dark. I also went by Officer's Row to see the beautiful historic homes. I hope soon to make a trip to be able to have more time to explore the battlefield more! These photos probably aren't much different than what has already been shared, but thought some might like to see.

Nice photos of both artillery and signage. Having never visited a Civil War battlefield I always appreciate these vicarious opportunities to tag along. Plans are underway however and I hope one day to share a few images of the experience with everyone. Thank you for sharing NBF fan!

I only had a quick stop at the battlefield myself back in 17. Id love to explore the area further. I really enjoyed the museum and in particular the large collection of firearms, they are worth a visit alone.

Whenever I'm able to get back, I'll make sure to visit the museum. That collection sounds great!

If you like artillery and longarms, Chickamauga is the place to go.

I don't like the idea of standing in front of the canons will reading the signage. Feels weird
