Shakespeare incorporated some hilarious "one liners" into almost all of his works ... today only serious Shakespeare scholars are starting to figure that out.

Personally I think his audience at the time understood all of his innuendoes.

Perhaps the funniest guy during the old days was Chaucer.

For many years, we had a wooden sign with a toy snake on it we hung on our dining fly after the camps closed- the sign said: "Bob the Snake - free bites" - we all seemed to get bit and needed the "snake bite" medicine....
