When I bought this Linder the lever on the breach block had been replaced. Not having one to copy I found photos online and made an original style replacement. The spring that opens the breach was also broken. I was able to weld the spring, then I re-heat treated it. Now it works great. According to the book Linder Carbines And Rifles by Edward Hull there were only 501 of this model produced. They were shipped January 9, 1863 to the New York Arsenal. On April8, 1863 they were shipped to the new state government in West Virginia and issued to the 8th West Virginia Mounted Infantry Linder 1.JPG Linder 2.JPG Linder 3.JPG Linder 4.JPG Linder 5.JPG
