I have here an E. Buell produced 1816 Flintlock musket. My understanding is that E.Buell, produced approximately 200 of these muskets under contract from the Springfield Armory. There were other subcontractors, such an Eli Whitney also. From what I can determine, this is a type 1, which would have been made at an earlier date. It is in its original flintlock configuration, which is rare. Quite a few of these were converted into percussion over the years. Any information or insight into this musket would be appreciated.
