I made my first post this morning, I live in North Norfolk UK,
I recently bought this sword at an antiques fair,being assured that it was a civil war sabre….
It will look nice with my 1861 pattern Springfield musket on my wall!!
Any help with the sword would be much appreciated!!!

Welcome From THE Heart Of Dixie. Its a model 1840 and the mark PDL is for P.D. Luneschloss of Solingen, Germany. Can't say it was in the US Civil War. Tiffany imported some of these but they have a Tiffany mark.

They look like they could be one of these but these are listed as unmarked or unidentified, these are 1,2,&3.

Edged Wpns - Help identifying a sword | Edged Weapons

Hello everyone! This is my first post. I have this sword and I was hoping someone might be able to help me with some information on it. The only marking I can find anywhere is a small FH in a circle of dots. From what I found online it stands for F Horster but I can't find much more than that...

I don't see a model 1812 here. I see an 1840 and an 1860.
