If I may sneak in here and say I don't think Cash meant that at all. I think (and correct me if I'm wrong, Cash) he meant that someone like Forrest would have a lot of catching up to do, and that would have been extremely difficult.I guess when you imply that Forrest was too backwards and dumb to compete with the West Pointers you're also talking about my dad and many others like him.
Our fathers are very similar. Mine left school at 16, WWII, blue collar, and did really hard crossword puzzles with a pen.
